Zhong Haiyuan was an elementary school teacher in Ganzhou City,Jiangxi Province. She was arrested for seeking to overturn Li Jiulian's sentence. After she was jailed, she openly criticized CCP Chairman resulting in her sentence being changed from 12 years imprisonment to the death penalty. She was executed by firing squad on 30 April 1978. Before her death, her kidneys were harvested and given to a military pilot from a family of high-ranking officials. Her body was moved to Field Operations Hospital No. 92, a PLA facility, and used as a specimen for dissection.
